Sophie's modeling news...

I never in a million years thought I’d be a model, or even apply to an agency; but I realised that I might be able to make some money from keeping in shape, and looking after my body. Something any athlete does without really thinking.

There are actually more opportunities out there than you might think. Advertising sports wear, gym equipment or health insurance policies; all of which can be done by athletes, without taking too much time out of your training programme.

I applied to a few agencies and got accepted by Stand Out, an agency based in the midlands. Next step was to get my portfolio done; this meant visiting a professional photographer and trying to look model-esque for 2.5hours, something a lot easier said than done!

I’d like to think I got better as the shoot went on, and produced some half decent shots. Since making my portfolio and contact cards I’ve done a few shoots and I really enjoyed them.

My advice to anyone who is interested in modelling is just have a go, send some photos to your local agency; you never know what might happen, you’ve definitely got nothing to lose!
